How to install React in Laravel
Learn how to install React in Laravel with an example.
Installing React in Laravel
Laravel is a popular open-source PHP framework that makes web development easier. React is a JavaScript library that allows users to build user interfaces quickly and efficiently. Combining the two allows developers to create powerful web applications that are easy to maintain.
The first step in installing React in Laravel is to install the npm package. To do this, open your terminal and run the following command:
npm install react react-dom --save
This will install the two packages needed for React. Once the packages are installed, you need to add the React scripts to your Laravel application. To do this, open up your webpack.mix.js file and add the following lines:
mix.react('resources/js/app.js', 'public/js')
.extract(['react', 'react-dom']);
This will bundle up the React scripts and make them available to your application. Next, you need to add the React components to your Laravel application. To do this, open up your app.js file and add the following lines:
import React from 'react';
import ReactDOM from 'react-dom';
ReactDOM.render(<h1>Hello, world!</h1>, document.getElementById('root'));
This will render the React component on the page. Finally, you need to compile your assets. To do this, run the following command in your terminal:
npm run production
This will compile your assets and make them available to your application. React is now installed and ready to use in your Laravel application.
